Now ThermoForest is bringing a fresh approach to the North American market.

ThermoForest developed a unique management system that utilizes advanced computer control to monitor and control the routing of intense heat and water vapour through a pressurized air-flow. This design ensures thorough heat distribution to maximize of the process while minimizing overheating or under treating. A series of sensors are strategically positioned within the EcoDryer to analyze the drying process until the targeted moisture content is achieved (typically less than 8%). The result is Thermowood, a value added product that’s dimensionally stable, resistant to twisting and warping, and suitable for use indoors and outdoors without toxic chemical treatments.

Our EcoDryers are capable of processing large volumes of wood in less time and without the waste that often results from traditional dry kilns (due to cracking, twisting and warping). EcoDryers are fired by either gas or oil systems, however alternative fuels, like wood waste and biomass, are currently being studied.

Our product is lighter, better looking and value added. And because our process requires only 24-48 hours for completion, maintaining a job-ready inventory is much easier.

Quick Green Facts:

• STW’s EcoDryers are a “closed loop” system. Other thermowood processes usually exhaust the waste, heat and energy into the atmosphere.

• Superior Thermowood’s design constantly recirculates hot air and water vapour, along with the gases and emissions from the wood, burning them off during the process.

• Condensate is collected in a tank below the EcoDryer for treatment.

• In the future, wood waste or biomass will be utilized as a fuel source.
