The Superior Thermowood process can improve the quality of any wood. Our process adds value to popular softwoods like spruce and pine; under utilized species like birch, tamarack and poplar become highly desirable for commercial manufacturing; while hardwoods can be treated to take on the appearance of exotic wood species. Once treated, many species can be compared to rare tropical wood species for their outward appearance and physical attributes.
Our process is environmentally sound, practical and proven. It produces wood with fine surface quality, enhanced grain character and dimensional depth. Details hidden deep within the wood are fully revealed. Even the least desirable species can be processed to match the appearance of the highest quality lumber.
In addition to the physical changes, the Superior Thermowood process enhances both the acoustic quality and the colour of the finished product. A range of colours, from warm natural tones to shades of tan, red, brown and black are achievable depending on the species.
